Bothwell Cheesemaker, Nathan Dueck, proudly shows off two awards received at the 2018 American Cheese Society Conference & Competition.

New Bothwell, MB – August 13, 2018 – It’s been a fruitful summer for Bothwell Cheese, whose team continues to compete at a global level to bring home awards for its 100% Canadian milk made cheeses. The company recently competed at the American Cheese Society (ACS) Conference & Competition held in Pittsburgh, PA where they received the following two awards:

This year, the ACS Judging & Competition welcomed 1,954 entries of cheeses and cultured dairy products from 259 companies representing 35 U.S. states, 5 Canadian provinces, Mexico, Columbia and Brazil. A total of 364 medals were awarded, including 103 gold medals, 124 silver medals, and 137 bronze medals.

“This is the second win for the Non-GMO Project Verified Medium Cheddar cheese, after taking first place at the 2017 British Empire Cheese Show in Toronto late last year,” said Nathan Dueck, Cheesemaker at Bothwell Cheese. “Bothwell Cheese was the first Canadian cheese manufacturer to receive the Non-GMO Project Verified status, so it’s more than exciting when we receive awards for a product that we worked really hard to create.”

In 2017, Bothwell Cheese launched its line of Non-GMO Project Verified products, all made with milk from cows that are fed non-GMO crops. Non-GMO Verified products are in demand and the Non-GMO Project Verified seal is the most trusted non-GMO label among consumers.

Bothwell’s Cheddars continued to impress this summer during the Canadian Cheese Awards in Toronto where the company’s Extra Old White Cheddar was crowned the Best West Cheese.

“Canadian cheese makers are so talented, so the fact that our cheeses stood out amongst so many other incredible products is a true honour,” said Jason Brandes, Director, Marketing & Innovation, Bothwell Cheese.
