3 Burgers, 3 Different Ways

These 3 burgers, made 3 different ways using 3 different cheeses are perfect for summer grilling and entertaining! Which one would you make?

Ingredients

Caramelized Onion & Bacon Cheeseburger 

  • 2 handmade burger patties
  • 2 slices of Medium Cheddar from Bothwell 450g Sliced Variety Pack
  • 3 tbsp caramelized onions
  • 2 slices of bacon, cooked and halved
  • 2 hamburger buns, sliced and toasted
  • 2 leaves of lettuce
  • 4 slices of tomato
  • 4 slices of pickle
  • 1 tbsp ketchup
  • 1 tbsp mustard

Caramelized Onions

  • 1 yellow or white onion, halved and sliced
  • 1 tbsp butter
  • 2 tsp maple syrup

Grilled Chicken Sandwich 

  • 1 chicken breast
  • 2 slices of Mozzarella from Bothwell 450g Sliced Variety Pack
  • 2 tbsp mayonnaise
  • 2 tsp prepared pesto
  • 2 ciabatta buns, sliced and toasted
  • 4 leaves of lettuce
  • 4 slices of tomato
  • 6 slices of red onion
  • ½ avocado, sliced

Ultimate Spicy Cheeseburger 

  • 2 handmade burger patties
  • 2 slices of Red Hot Chili Pepper from Bothwell 450g Sliced Variety Pack
  • 4 onion rings, fried
  • 2 hamburger buns, sliced and toasted
  • 2 leaves of lettuce
  • 4 slices of tomato
  • 4 slices of spicy deli pickles
  • 2 tbsp spicy aioli

Directions

Caramelized Onion & Bacon Cheeseburger 

1. Preheat the grill to medium-high heat
2. Cook burger patties on the grill for about four minutes on the first side. Flip burgers and add one cheese slice to each patty then let the burger cook until done. Cook until the
internal temperature is 160°F
3. Top each patty with 1.5 tbsp caramelized onions and a slice of bacon
4. On the bottom buns layer 1 lettuce leaf, 2 slices of tomato, 2 pickles, and ½ tbsp of each ketchup and mustard
5. Top bun with loaded burger patty and finish with the top of the bun
6. Serve immediately and enjoy!

Caramelized Onions

1. Heat butter on medium-low heat in a medium size frying pan, add onions
2. Sauté onions until soft and golden brown in colour (about 15 minutes), be careful to not burn onions
3. Add maple syrup and mix well and cook for another 2 minutes, remove from heat
4. Let onions cool and transfer to an airtight container

Grilled Chicken Sandwich 

1. Preheat the grill to medium-high heat
2. Cut the chicken breast in half lengthwise and season with salt and pepper. Cook chicken on grill until fully cooked for about 3-4 minutes on both sides. When you flip chicken
add 1 slice of cheese to each chicken breast to melt. Cook until the internal temperature is 165°F
3. As the chicken is cooking, mix mayonnaise and pesto in a small bowl to combine. Divide and spread mayonnaise evenly on the bottom buns and layer each bun with 2 lettuce
leaves, 2 tomato slices, 3 onion slices, ½ of the slices of avocado, chicken topped with cheese and finish with the top of the bun
4. Serve immediately and enjoy!
