Sunny Dog Herbs & Garlic Gnocchi Bread Bake

Sunny Dog Herbs & Garlic Cheddar garlic bread adds a ton of flavour to this easy and comforting pasta dish. It's a 30 minute meal that's perfect for weeknights!


  • 2 tbsp. olive oil 1 small onion, diced
  • 1 (650ml) jar pasta sauce
  • ½ cup heavy cream
  • 2 (500g) pkg of gnocchi, cooked as per package directions
  • 1 ½ cups Sunny Dog Barkin’ Herbs & Garlic Cheddar, grated and divided
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • ¼ cup butter, room temperature
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 8 slices of sourdough bread
  • Optional Garnish: fresh chives


  1. Preheat oven to 350 ° F. Set aside an 8 x 12 baking dish.
  2. In a medium-large saucepan on medium heat, heat oil and add onions. Sauté onions until translucent, about 5 minutes.
  3. Add pasta sauce and cream to the onions and heat until warmed. Add gnocchi and combine. Carefully transfer gnocchi to the baking dish and sprinkle with ¾ cup of cheese, and set aside.
  4. In a small bowl, combine butter and garlic.
  5. Arrange sourdough bread on top of the cheesy gnocchi and divide the garlic butter evenly over the eight slices.
  6. Sprinkle remaining cheese over the garlic bread and bake for 25-30 minutes or until bubbling and the bread is toasty.
  7. Sprinkle chives on top and serve hot
